Zig Ziglar is an author and
speaker who, since 1970, has traveled over 5 million miles
across the world, cultivating the energy of change. Ziglar
is the author of 23 books, including the best-seller Over
the Top. He has written on such topics as personal
growth, leadership, sales, faith, family, and success.
Zig Ziglar’s target market and specialty is the
corporate market and improving sales skills, but he also does programs related
to improving relationships. One to 4-day seminars are offered on goal
setting, sales, and personal motivation. Two film series are available for
church rental, called: Living Your Potential and Raising Positive Kids in a
Negative World. He also has a program, offered by the Educational Services
Division, geared to school-age children called: “I CAN ”, which attempts to
build self-esteem and positive learning attitudes in children. This program is
taught in 3,000 schools in the U.S., and provides in-service training for
students, parents, teachers and administrators and classroom curriculum for all
grade levels.
Ziglar has shared the speaking platform with United
States presidents, military generals, members of Congress, governors, and other
prestigious people. He has been recognized three times in the Congressional
Record of the United States for his work with youth in the drug war and for his
dedication to America and the free enterprise system.
His corporation, Ziglar Training Systems, offers
public seminars, customized educational programs, workshops, and keynote
speakers—all focused on personal and professional development. Zig has a client
list that includes thousands of small and mid-sized businesses, like Fortune 500
companies, U.S. government agencies, churches, schools, and non-profit
associations. The corporation has had a profound effect on the lives of many
people.
One of the most prolific and longest-lasting
motivational speakers on the national and international talk circuit, speaking
for more than 37 years, is Zig Ziglar. Mr. Ziglar is a devout Christian, who
began by doing a lot of speeches for churches. He’s approaching retirement age
now, and has been reducing the number of appearances annually (from 100 in 1993
to 60 in 2000 and 45-50 in 2001 and 2002. He wants to concentrate more on
writing books.
These appearances are divided fairly evenly between
corporate functions and conventions, and “public” seminars.
He also does perhaps another 20-25 free speeches
for worthy causes. Ziglar does radio spots but is not really active with TV talk
show appearances. Ziglar’s products and services are distributed to such
nations as Great Britain, Canada, Germany, Japan, and Africa.
